    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic display which is capable of easily converting the black characters and images formed by magnetic particles of fine black iron oxide powder, etc., to diversified interference colors with simple constitution without impairing the functions of the conventional magnetic displays. SOLUTION: This magnetic display is constituted by coating and providing two sheets of nonmagnetic material substrates 8 and 9, at least one of which is transparent, with a microcapsule layer 7A of the fine black magnetic powder dispersed into oily liquid and fine light reflective nonmagnetic material powder between these substrates to form the display sheet, and forms and images by impressing the magnetic field for forming the characters or images from the front surface of the display having the transport 8 side as the front surface and impressing the magnetic field for image erasure from the rear surface, thereby converting the positions of the fine black magnetic material powder and fine light reflective magnetic material powder within the microcapsule 7. The front surface or rear surface of the transport 8 is coated and provided with a pearl pigment layer 16 indicating various kinds of the interference colors.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic display which enables the colorization of an image formed on a display surface and in which a color change by an angle to see is eliminated by eliminating the angle dependency of an interference color by converting a black color specific to a magnetic particle, an indispensable element as a formative element for a character or an image, into other various colors without using coloring materials, etc. SOLUTION: The magnetic display is formed by coating a microcapsule layer 7A enclosing the fine powders 5 of a light absorbing black magnetic material and the fine powders 6 of a light reflective nonmagnetic material which are dispersed in an oily dispersion liquid 4 between two nonmagnetic material substrates 2 and 3 one of which is transparent. An array layer 9A is arranged and embedded in the wall film 8 of a microcapsule 7 which encloses the oily dispersion liquid 4 of the fine powders 5 and the fine powders 6 so that planar particles 9 which form a multiplex layer structure to convert the black color specific to the fine powders 5 to be shown as the character or the image on the display surface 1 into the interference color are aligned in parallel with the wall film 8 throughout the spherical surface of the microcapsule 7.
