摘要： PURPOSE:To execute polishing in the wide range of the face to be worked with a sufficient polishing pressure being generated even the gap between a tool and the face to be worked being enlarged, by using a magnetic abrasive composed of a short fiber like magnetic body or this and a granular abrasive. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic polishing brush in the state of a short fiber like magnetic body 3a being raised between the face 21 to be worked of the body 2 to be worked and a tool 1, is formed, by using the short fiber like magnetic body 3a as a magnetic abrasive 3. Consequently, the magnetic attraction force effected on the face 21 to be worked of the head of this brush is improved and a sufficient polishing pressure is generated even in case of the gap between the tool 1 and the face 21 to be worked being enlarged.

摘要： PURPOSE:To enable mass production of metallic long fiber of desired quality and thickness with less independent dispersion to be carried out simply at a low cost by turning a coil material end face by a cutting tool, whose flank is formed into a circular arc-shaped recessed curved surface, and discharging the fellow cut metallic long fibers in a direction of separating from each other. CONSTITUTION:A cutting tool 5, having a cutting edge part 5a of large width equal to or more than thickness of a coil material 1 in the point of a shank 5b, is provided with a rake face 50 and a flank 51, but the flank 51 is formed into a recessed curved surface of or similar to a circular arc shape of required radius of curvature. In manufacture of a metallic long fiber F, the cutting edge part 5a is attached to the end face of the coil material 1, and a core metal 2 is rotated at a desired peripheral speed while giving a desired feed to the edge part 5a. Then the flow cutting chip type long fiber F, in which its width agrees with thickness of a thin plate 100 for constituting the coil material 1 and the thickness agrees almost with a feed amount per one turn of the core metal 2, is continuously created in each thin plate 100 by continuously thin cutting the end face surface layer of the coil material 1 by the ridge line 53 of the cutting edge part 5a.
