    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a normally open solenoid operated modular valve in which a polymer valve body portion is detachably connected to a solenoid body.SOLUTION: A normally open solenoid operated modular valve 10 includes a solenoid body receiving a coil 38 and pole piece 42. An armature/valve member 52 slidably disposed in both of the solenoid body and a valve body portion is engaged with a polymer material thread-in poppet/valve member 16 to hold the armature/valve member 52. A resilient material valve ring 86 is retained on the thread-in poppet-valve member 16. A cylindrical tube portion receives a rod portion of the armature/valve member 52. A biasing member 78 acts against the armature/valve member and thereby acts to normally bias the valve ring 86 away from contact with a valve seat surface created in the valve body portion to define a normally open position of the modular valve 10.

      SOLUTION: The proportional pressure controller 10 includes a body having inlet 28, outlet 30, and exhaust 32 ports. A fill valve 54 communicates with pressurized fluid in the inlet port 28. A dump valve 56 communicates with pressurized fluid from the fill valve 54. An inlet poppet valve 36 opens by pressurized fluid through the fill valve 54. An outlet flow passage 34 communicates with pressurized fluid when the inlet poppet valve 36 is open, and communicates with the outlet flow passage 34 and an exhaust/outlet common passage 86. A fill inlet passage 62 communicates between an inlet passage 58 and the fill valve 54, and is isolated from the outlet flow passage 34, exhaust/outlet common passage 86, and outlet 30 and exhaust 32 ports in all operating conditions of the controller 10.
