    • PURPOSE:To obtain a multistage speed change with a simple structure by selectively engaging/disengaging a plurality of fixed bevel gears having different diameters which are concentrically formed on the inner face of one input disk of a pair of mutually opposite input disks with non-fixed bevel gears of the same number as the fixed bevel gears which are fitted on an output shaft. CONSTITUTION:A pair of mutually opposite input disks 1a, 1b are rotatably installed on the peripheral sides of holding disks 2, and a plurality of fixed bevel gear 4 (4a, 4b...4n, 4o) each having different diameters are concentrically provided on the inner face of one input disk 1a. An output shaft 5 and a guide shaft 6 are provided between the pair of input disks 1a, 1b and both ends of these are rotatably supported by the peripheral sides of the holding disks 2. Non-fixed bevel gears 8 (8a, 8b...8n, 8o) which are individually engaged with each of the bevel gears 4 are rotatably fitted on the output shaft 5, and a lock mechanism including a sliding key 12 which is selectively fixed to either of the output shaft 5 or each of the bevel gears 8 and which is moved back and force via a wire 16, a slider 14, an arm piece 13, etc., is provided between the bevel gears 8 and the output shaft 5.

    • PURPOSE:To perform necessary speed change easily and speedily and reduce/ smooth shock at the time of speed change by forming a locking means for performing alternative fixture between plural umbrella-shaped gears of an input disc and a crankshaft. CONSTITUTION:When a pedal 24 is stepped on to rotate a crankshaft 3, a locking means allows, for instance, only the umbrella-shaped gears 8-15 of an input disc 4 fixed at the crankshaft 3 to transmit rotational driving force, and this rotational driving force is transmitted to fixed umbrella-shaped gears 22-15 interlocked with the umbrella-shaped gears 8-15. As the fixed umbrella- shaped gears 22-15 are fixed at an output shaft 21, the rotational driving force is outputted from the output shaft 21 at a gear ratio between the umbrella- shaped gears 8-15 and the fixed umbrella-shaped gears 22-15, and this rotational driving force is transmitted to a rear wheel through the output shaft 21. When the locking means is of manual operating type structure, the locking means is operated to select the umbrella-shaped gears from the innermost periphery to the outermost periphery of the input disc 4, thus enabling speed change from low speed to high speed.
