    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric wire support fitting which can improve workability in fixing an overhead electric wire to an insulator. SOLUTION: An electric wire support fitting 1 is a support fitting to fix an overhead electric wire 2 to an insulation 3 and is formed of an binding wire 4 shaped in an elliptical section. The binding wire 4 is made of a metal wire such as a galvanized steel wire, which is coated with a coating material. The electric wire support fitting 1 has: an insulation catching part 7 which is formed at the center in the lengthwise direction of the binding wire 4 to wind and grab a neck 3a of the insulation 3; and electric wire holding members 8A, 8B which are formed in a spiral on the both sides of the insulation catching part 7 of the binding wire 4 respectively to coil around the overhead electric wire 2. The spiral directions of the electric wire holding members 8A, 8B are opposite to each other. Further, the spiral pitch of the electric wire holding members 8A, 8B are the same on the whole.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a galvanized steel wire for optical cable by which the elastic characteristic and expansion characteristic of the galvanized steel wire for optical cable are improved while eliminating the deformation of the galvanized steel wire for optical cable. SOLUTION: The galvanized steel wire made by galvanizing the surface of a steel wire is firstly prepared for manufacturing the galvanized steel wire for optical cable used as a supporting wire of an optical drop cable. Then, the galvanized steel wire is straightened by repeatedly bending the galvanized steel wire to eliminate the bending originally existing on the galvanized steel wire. Next, the galvanized steel wire is heated. The heating temperature of the galvanized steel wire is 130 °C to 350 °C, preferably 180 °C to 220 °C. Thus, the yield ratio (yield point) which is reduced by the repeated bending processes is recovered. Finally, an adhesive is applied on the surface of the galvanized steel wire while it is hot.
