SOLUTION: This method for producing the covering material made from the laver 1 is provided by folding the joining parts 3, 4 of the paper leaf state laver 2 to its inside by a prescribed width, wetting the outside surface of one of the joining part 3 with water, overlapping the outside surface of another joining part 4 with that part, pressing the overlapped part with a hot plate P of a sealing machine, heated at approximately 60 deg.C for bonding and joining the joining parts 3, 4 to obtain a cylindrical state covering material 1 made from the laver.

The surface sponge 3 is fixed by turning pulling straps so that they come to the upper side of the pressing table 1, pulling the straps closely and crossing a fastener surface 4 of the strap over each other.
