    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embolus coil which has an extensibility-proof function (a stretch resistant feature) regarding a vessel in the body of a human subject and a medical apparatus which can be planted in the defective portion of the vessel. SOLUTION: This coil system is equipped with the extensibility-proof function. This system includes a wound coil which demarcates the lumen and an extensibility-proof member at least partially received in the lumen. A restriction member is also at least partially received in the lumen and demarcates an aperture composed so as to movably receive a part of the extensibility-proof member in order that the wound coil can extend and lengthen. The extensibility-proof member is larger than the aperture and includes an extension portion composed so as to be engaged with the restriction member in order to prevent or hinder the extension of the wound coil. This restriction member may be included as a separated component which is attached to the wire of the coil by fixing or the coil/wire may includes one or more sub windings composed so as to achieve the function of the restriction member.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embolic device deployment system, adopting an elongated flexible delivery catheter for guiding a deployment unit to a concerned site in the body of a patient.
      SOLUTION: A vascular occlusion device deployment system is provided for deploying an embolic device at a preselected site within the vasculature of a patient. The deployment system includes a tubular element having a catch movably located within the tubular element. The catch has a normal open configuration and a closed configuration. When in the closed configuration, the catch grasps a headpiece of an embolic device. The tubular element has a constraining section and a releasing section. WHen the catch is within the constraining section of the tubular element, the constraining section acts upon the catch to keep the catch in a closed configuration. When the catch is moved to the releasing section, the catch returns to its normally open configuration and releases its grasp of the embolic device headpiece.
