摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking distance-shortening system capable of stopping a vehicle safely at the shortest braking distance in case of an emergency stop.SOLUTION: A braking distance-shortening system includes: plural pieces of braking means disposed on a bottom of a vehicle; vehicle state detection means that detects a current vehicle state; and braking plate control means that controls activities of the pieces of braking means. The pieces of braking means each include a braking plate capable of increasing or decreasing a contact area between the bottom of the vehicle and a road surface. The braking plate control means implements control to increase or decrease the contact area between the braking plate, which is included in each of the pieces of braking means, and the road surface according to the vehicle state detected by the vehicle state detection means.
