摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for setting the driving voltage of an LED in which current consumption can be reduced effectively while absorbing variation in the characteristics of respective LEDs. SOLUTION: The device for setting the driving voltage of an LED comprises a voltage applying section (a microcomputer 32, an applying voltage level setting section 33, a voltage varying circuit 18) for applying a variable voltage to red, green and blue color LEDs, respectively, a detecting section (a luminance/chromaticity meter 31) for detecting the luminance of each color LED when the variable voltage is applied, and a data writing section (a microcomputer 32) for writing the minimum applying voltage level to each color LED in a memory (applying voltage storage registers 11-13) as the driving voltage level of each color LED when a luminance not lower than a desired level is detected in each color LED.
