SOLUTION: The holder for the endoscope comprises a distal end hood 11 detachably attached to a distal end 2 of an endoscope insertion part 1, a gripping piece 12 disposed in the front/rear directions near the inner surface inside the distal end hood 11 attached to the distal end hood 11 to be turned in the direction of the center axis of the distal end hood 11 around the rear end part, and an operation wire 15 connected to the gripping piece 12 and extending from there to the rear of the distal end hood 11. The gripping piece 12 is turned around the rear end part near a distal end opening of the distal end hood 11 by operating the operation wire 15 forward/backward from the base end side.
