    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preparing semi-solid slurry, which can easily prepare semi-solid slurry or a semi-solid molding in a short time without being restricted to a type/composition of a target metal, and a semi-solid molding.
      SOLUTION: When a metal in a molten state is poured into a container or a sleeve (which is referred to as a "container or the like" hereinafter), pouring is carried out in such a manner that the metal enters a supercooled state without generating an initial solid layer and self-mixing occurs in the container. Nuclei are generated without producing an initial solid layer by a supercooling phenomenon which occurs by bringing the molten metal into contact with a cooling container or a cooling portion from a fixed height, and then mixing is carried out to eliminate a temperature gradient in the cooling container or in the cooling portion, thereby providing a semi-solid state.
