    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water penetration testing machine capable of precisely evaluating the relation between the compression state of a ground material deformed by pressure and water penetration properties; and also to provide a water penetration testing method.
      SOLUTION: A water penetrating cylinder 1 is composed of a first central cylindrical part 10 and the second cylindrical parts 20 and 30 externally fitted to both ends of the first excindrical part 10. A bottom 3 is placed in an overflow water tank 4, and the water penetrating cylinder 1 is placed on the bottom lid 3 through a perforated plate 8 or the like and filled with the ground material 9.
