    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mercury analyzing apparatus and a method therefor, which prevent any mercury from remaining in a channel collecting the mercury in a sample in order to analyze the mercury sensitively and precisely. SOLUTION: The mercury analyzing apparatus includes: a sample gas introducing channel 2 for causing a sample gas S to flow through a mercury collecting tube 4 which collects the mercury in the sample gas S; a heating/vaporizing device 5 for heating the mercury collecting tube 4 which has the collected mercury, and vaporizing the mercury; a mercury measuring instrument 6 for measuring the vaporized mercury; and a carrier gas supplying channel 7 which is connected to a channel connection part 3 on the upstream side of the mercury collecting tube 4 in the sample gas introducing channel 2, and causes a carrier gas G to flow for carrying the vaporized mercury to the mercury measuring instrument 6. The channel connection part 3 is a double tube configured such that an inner tube 25 passes through a hollow part of an outer tube 75, thereby making up a double channel, wherein one gas being the sample gas S or the carrier gas G flows through the hollow part 251 of the inner tube 25, and the other gas flows through a tubular space 753 between the outer wall 252 of the inner tube 25 and the inner wall 752 of the outer tube 75.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mercury analyzer and a mercury analysis method of a short time integration system of measuring signal intensity, capable of shortening an analysis time of mercury in an analysis sample, and improving accuracy and precision of mercury analysis.
      SOLUTION: This mercury analyzer is equipped with a mercury lamp 1 for radiating an analysis line of mercury; an absorption cell 2 for allowing mercury vaporized from a sample 8 to pass to the inside, and allowing the analysis line of mercury to penetrate through it; and a detector 31 for detecting the intensity of the analysis line of mercury penetrating through the absorption cell 2. The mercury analyzer for determining the content of mercury in the sample by performing time integration of signal intensity from the detector has a signal processing means 4 wherein a period from a measurement start time until a time T1 when a peak value P of the signal intensity and a rising value H of the signal intensity having a prescribed ratio are acquired is used as an integration time of the time integration.
