    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strain-relieving device that does not require an insulator when wiring a leading wire into a house from a pole and that is lighter than a conventional device. SOLUTION: The strain-relieving device 10 has an electric wire fixing portion 12 where the leading wire is fixed and a mounted-on-building-side potion 14 that is mounted on the wall of a building like a house. The electric wire fixing portion 12 and the mounted-on-building-side portion 14 are connected to each other by a strain holding means 16 and electrically insulated to each other. The strain-holding means 16 has a rope-shaped strain member 18 and a holding member, or a fusing member 20 that holds the strain member 18 in a slackened state. The fusing member 20 breaks when an abnormal voltage is applied between the electric wire fixing portion 12 and the mounted-on-building-side portion 14 with the length of the strain-relieving device extended and abnormal tension is relieved.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airtight housing vessel for a connection of a communication cable or the like in which airtightness can be surely maintained without being affected by installation environment, and also workability at assembly time is improved, and to provide a gasket used for the connection.
      SOLUTION: The airtight housing vessel for the connection of the communication cable or the like is constituted of an upper sleeve 11 and a lower sleeve 12 having shapes obtained by dividing a hollow vessel into upper and lower parts and equipped with vertically symmetrical grooves 31, 32 mutually opposed to respective divided surfaces, and the gasket 21 fitted into the grooves 31, 32. The gasket 21 includes a part which has a width larger than that of the groove 32 on the lower sleeve 12 side as the cross sectional width perpendicular to the longitudinal direction thereof so as to be press-fitted into the groove on the lower sleeve 12 side, and is held by a surface pressure between a side wall of the lower groove 32 on the lower sleeve 12 side and itself.
