      SOLUTION: The long and short composite spun yarn is composed of a core part containing a polyester fiber capable of selectively absorbing solar light and a sheath part containing a solvent-spun cellulose fiber. The mass ratio of the solar light selective absorption polyester fiber in the spun yarn is 15-60 mass%, the mass ratio of the solvent-spun cellulose fiber in the spun yarn is 40-85 mass%, and the twist coefficient of the yarn is 3.5-4.5.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-layered yarn having excellent covering properties and to provide a method by which the multi-layered yarn can stably be produced.
      SOLUTION: The multi-layered yarn has a cross section forming a core-sheath type two-layer structure and both the core and the sheath parts composed of staple fibers. In the multi-layered yarn, the sheath part is wound in the same direction as the twisting direction of the core part. The method for producing the multi-layered yarn comprises simultaneously feeding a spun yarn and a staple fiber strand to front rollers of a ring spinning machine. The method is carried out as follows. The spun yarn is fed to the same front rollers while feeding the staple fiber strand to the front rollers by setting the draft ratio between the front rollers and the second rollers within a specific range. Both are superposed and then twisted in the same direction as that of the spun yarn.
