    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sock solving the following problem: although moisture absorptive yarns are knitted in a part directly touching the skin of a wearer, uncomfortable moisture feeling can not be satisfactorily eliminated because of adhesiveness between the yarns and the skin, in view of the fact that the sock receives load from the sole of the wearer on which her (his) weight is applied. SOLUTION: The sock is structured as follows: inner cotton or nonwoven fabric mixed with highly moisture-absorbing/releasing fibers is disposed at a sole surface skin-contact part of the sock via a fabric so as to suppress the rising speed of the moisture in shoes due to perspiration, holding the moisture in the shoes down to a satisfactory extent to maintain the dry feeling of the sock.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonwoven fabric having practically sufficient mechanical strength, high water-absorbing performance and water diffusibility, especially unidirectional water diffusibility.
      SOLUTION: The nonwoven fabric is such that (A) spun yarns comprising thermofusible fibers and highly water-absorbing fibers are mutually thermofused at their contact points. A 2nd version of this nonwoven fabric is such that (A) the spun yarns and (B) spun yarns comprising thermofusible fibers and other fibers but containing no highly water-absorbing fibers are mutually thermofused at their contact points. A 3rd version of this nonwoven fabric is such that (C) composite spun yarns made by intertwining the above spun yarns A and B are mutually thermofused at their contact points.
