    • PURPOSE:To provide smooth operation of cutting small and exhausting the splash produced from a tool such as a rotary cutter, which is furnished with two or more cutting tips at the periphery of the tool body, by constituting cutting tips from two groups of different types, and by placing them alternately. CONSTITUTION:If the subject of this invention is embodied in a rotary cutter, the cutting tips are constituted from No.1 group cutting tips 1 and No.2 group 11, which have a little different configuration from each other, and they are placed alternately at the periphery of the tool body 71. Each cutting tip 1 is provided with a ridge 2 at its front face stretching from the root to the foremost end, wherein a fore cutting edge A is prepared at the front face foremost end of this ridge 2 as well as rear cutting edges 5 behind theeof on both sides nearer the root part than cutting edge 4. Each cutting tip 11 is provided at its front face bottom with a cutting edge 13 to cut at least the cut surface prepared by said rear cutting edges 5. The cutting edges 4, 5 shall yield splash with different thicknesses.

    • PURPOSE:To permit high-speed cutting, prolong the service life of a chip, and facilitate recutting, by constituting a cutting edge from a front cutting edge part and a rear cutting edge part. CONSTITUTION:On a cutting chip 1, a front cutting edge part 4 is formed at the front edge of a convex stripe 2, and rear cutting edge parts 5 are formed at the top edges of both concaved parts 3, and a no-cutting part 6 which does not participate in cutting is formed at the side top edge of the convex stripe 2. The undersurface of the cutting chip 1 forms a flank 9. When cutting is carried-out with a rotary cutter thus constituted, the cutting edge part 4 cuts a center part having an entering width W, and the cutting edge part 5 cuts a little shallower the both sides. Therefore, the size of cutting is reduced nearly to 1/3, and cutting scraps can be discharged easily, and high-speed cutting is permitted, and the life of the chip can be prolonged.

    • PURPOSE:To enable a cutting chip to be discharged smoothly by a method wherein the pitch of arrangement of cutting tips is made small. CONSTITUTION:The front part 4 of the cutting edge of each of the cutting tips 1 cuts the center of the cutting width of a work and the rear part 5 of the cutting edge cuts both sides of the cutting width. As a result, the maximum width of the resultant cutting chip becomes equal to the maximum width of the front part 4 or the rear part 5 of the cutting edge of each of the cutting tips 1.
