摘要： PURPOSE:To industrially and advantageously obtain the subject compound in high optical purity and yield by reacting a specific diene compound with a glyoxylic acid ester in the presence of a binaphthol-titanium complex catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A diene compound (e.g. 2-methyl-1,3-butadiene) expressed by formula I [R and R are H, lower alkyl or OR (R is lower alkyl or di-lower alkylcarbamoyl), provided that both R and R are not H] is reacted with a glyoxylic acid ester (e.g. methyl glyoxylate) expressed by formula II (R is lower alkyl) in the presence of a binaphthol-titanium complex expressed by formula III (X is Cl or Br) as a catalyst preferably at -30 to -10 deg.C for 3-20hr to afford the objective compound expressed by formula IV. Furthermore, the catalyst expressed by formula III is used in a molar amount of preferably 0.05-0.1 based on the raw materials expressed by formulas I and II.

The compound is treated with a metal (e.g., zinc, iron, nickel, especially preferably zinc) having ionization tendency smaller than zinc and larger than hydrogen to regenerate the dihydropyran ring, which is oxidized with lead tetraacetate, to give (-)-elenophosphoric ester shown by the formula II. EFFECT:An elenophosphoric ester can be synthesized stereoselectively by a simple synthetic procedure. USE:An antiviral agent. A raw mateiral for ajmalicine useful as an antihypertensive, tranquilizer, etc.
