    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a wavelength-selective switching device by using diffraction of light. SOLUTION: Wavelength-selective switching devices (100, 400, 500) and a method for selectively transmitting optical signals according to wavelengths use diffraction for spatially separating optical signals having different wavelengths, and consequently an optical signal having a selected wavelength is selectively transmitted. A wavelength-selective switching device selectively rotates a polarized light component of an optical signal to equalize the polarized state of the polarized component in both the incidence direction and projection direction of a diffraction grating (106). Thus, the diffraction grating having a high grating line frequency (e.g. grating lines exceeding 900 per 1 mm for a signal within a wavelength range of 1,550 nm) can be used to diffract the polarized component of the optical signal in both the incidence direction and projection direction.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct highly precise control so as to reduce residual vibration, while conducting moving control of a moving body such as a tilt mirror or the like. SOLUTION: A processing section 11 outputs driving signals which control the angle of a tilt mirror 1 and the drive signals are D/A converted by a D/A converter 12, raised to higher voltages by a high voltage amplifier 13 and supplied to the tilt mirror 1. The capacitance of the tile mirror 1 is varied corresponding to a change in the angle of the tilt mirror 1. A mirror angle detection section 14 detects the capacitance and feeds back the detected capacitance to the processing section 11 as a correction value. The processing section 11 corrects the drive signals by using the correction value which is obtained, while the angle of the tile mirror 1 is actually varied.
