    • PURPOSE:To make reduction of processing cost possible by forming a narrow groove on closely adhered or movably contacting surface of either a valve plug or a member closely adheres or movably contacts with the valve plug, and forming a flow resistance generating means with a mate member that closely adheres or movably contacts and the narrow groove. CONSTITUTION:When rotational difference occurs between a cam 1 and a rotor 5, a plunger 8 in the course of a discharge stroke is pushed to the axial direction by the cam surface 2 of the cam 1. The plunger 8 pushes out the oil in a plunger chamber 7 to an intake/discharge hole 10, the discharge port 14 of a rotary valve 11, and a communicating groove 15. The oil pushed out is supplied to an intake passage 13 by a narrow groove 17A that functions as an orifice, when the oil pressure of the discharge port 14, the communicating groove 15 and the plunger chamber 7 is raised by flow resistance, and reaction force is generated in the plunger 8 to transmit torque between the cam 1 and the rotor 5. If the cam 1 further rotates, it becomes an intake stroke, oil is sucked to the plunger chamber 7 passing through the intake passage 13, the intake port 12, and the intake/discharge hole 10, and the plunger 8 returns moving along the cam surface 2 of the cam 1.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of the confined phenomenon by installing a plunger chamber in order to prevent two or more plunger chambers are not connected with each discharge port at the same time and installing a fluid resistance generating means at each discharge port. CONSTITUTION:Each discharge port 14 is constituted so as not to communicate each other so that two or more plunger chambers are not connected to a port 14 at the same time, and each orifice 17 which communicates to a suction passage 13 is formed at each port 14. Accordingly, the oil in the chamber 7 in discharge cycle flows in each independent orifice 17. Accordingly, even if the port 14 and a suction port 12 is short-circuited, at the transition time point from the discharge cycle to the suction cycle, the leak of the oil in other chamber 7 from this short circuit part is prevented, and the operation of each chamber 7 is not given with influence. Accordingly, the interval between the contiguous ports 12 and 14 can be reduced in comparison with the diameter of the suction/discharge hole 10 of a rotor 5, and the confined phenomenon can be avoided from the principle aspect.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce weight with ensured easiness in disassembly and assembly of housing member and strength of housing member and prevent occurrence of backlash by meshing the outer peripheral part of cam housing and the inner peripheral part of hub with each other. CONSTITUTION:When transmission torque occurs, force acts on a housing member 20 via a drive piston 40 to expand the diameter. Since the outer peripheral part of a cam housing 24 and the inner peripheral part of a hub 22 are engaged and combined with each other, the force which acts on the housing member 20 is received partially on not only a cam housing 21 but also the hub 22. Even if the cam housing 21 bends in the direction of diameter due to force from the drive piston 40, the engaging and combining parts approach each other, and occurrence of backlash is suppressed. Further, even if a trouble occurs in a rotor member 30, it is possible to carry out disassembly and assembly with ease because the cam housing 21 and hub 22 are engaged and combined with each other in the direction of rotary shaft.

    • PURPOSE:To simplify both inlet and discharge valves in structure by installing a valve element, provided with plural units of inlet ports and discharge, in a rotor member, and constituting it to produce flow resistance in space between a high pressure chamber interconnected to these discharge ports and a low pressure chamber in a joint. CONSTITUTION:When a rotational difference is produced in an internal between a cam 1 and a rotor 4, a plunger 6 is pressed in the axial direction by a cam surface 2. Therefore the plunger 6 forces out oil in a plunger chamber 5 to a high pressure chamber 16 via a rotary valve 10, a discharge port 12A and a discharge passage 12B, while an inlet-discharge combined port 8 is closed by the rotary valve 10. A flow resistance of oil is produced by an orifice 18 lying between the high pressure chamber 16 and a low pressure chamber 20 and thereby reaction is produced in the plunger 6 as well, so that torque is transferred to an interval between the cam 1 and the rotor 4. When the plunger 6 comes to an inlet stroke, oil in the low pressure chamber 20 is taken into the plunger chamber 5 by way of an inlet passage 11B and an inlet port 11A of the rotary valve 10. Owing to the said constitution, both inlet and discharge valves are simplified in terms of structure.

    • PURPOSE:To aim at reduction in size and rotation at a high speed by providing a function for forcibly opening a suction valve in each suction stroke of plungers in both forward and reverse directions of the relative rotation between a first and a second rotary member. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 4 has in the axial direction thereof a plurality of plunger chambers 5 containing plural plungers 6 therein in a slidable manner. The rotor 4 is provided with suction holes 8A and discharge holes 9A leading to the chambers 5, respectively. A rotary valve 10 has a suction port 8, a suction groove 11, a discharge port 9, a discharge groove 12 and a positioning projection 14 engaged with a notch formed on the inner circumference of a cam housing 3. Upon directional change of differential rotation, the valve 10 is rotated together with the rotor 4, and continues the rotation until the projection 14 is brought into contact with the notch of the housing 3 and thereafter is rotated integrally with the housing 3. Therefore, the suction holes 8A and the discharge holes 9A are forcibly opened and closed at a predetermined timing at the time of forward and reverse rotation.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent a cam and plunger from partial wear by providing an inlet valve forcibly opened before the completion of discharge stroke of the plunger in a power transmitting joint having transmitting torque controlled between input and output shafts by flow resistance in a pump discharge path. CONSTITUTION:When a rotational difference is produced between a cam 1 and rotor 4, a plunger 6 in the discharge stroke is pushed axially by the cam face 2 of the cam 1 to extrude oil from a plunger chamber 5 to a high pressure chamber 16 so that an inlet hole 8A is forcibly closed by a rotary valve 10. Oil in the high pressure chamber 16 is supplied to a low pressure chamber 20, and oil pressure in the high pressure chamber 16 and plunger chamber 5 is increased by the resistance of an orifice 18 so that torque is transmitted between the cam 1 and rotor 4. When the cam 1 is further rotated, an intake stroke starts and the inlet hole 8A is forcibly opened by the valve 10 before the completion of discharge stroke of the plunger 6. Thus, high pressure will not act on the plunger 6 so that the cam 1 and plunger 6 can be prevented from partial wear.

A pair of circular cam faces 25 and 26 are formed around the rotation center line (l) on the right and left walls of a front cover 14 oppo site to expanded sections 12, sliding bodies 16 and 16' are touched or separated from each other by ball sections 17 rotated along them in the direction of the cylinder center line l1, and sliding means B change the volume of pressurization chambers 23 for pumping actions. Sliding bodies 16 and 16' are slid in the direc tion of the cylinder center line l0 parallel with the rotation center line (l), thus the size of a hydraulic joint C in the radial direction can be decreased, and the whole device can be made compact.
