    • PURPOSE:To prevent effectively a ribbon breakage at the time of opening, by providing a thermoplastic resin, which goes across a weakened line and covers it, as a reinforced layer, separately from the resin for a laminated body, at the outside of the most protruding part of an inner peripheral side guiding weakened line in the opening starting direction, when viewed in the opening starting direction. CONSTITUTION:When a grip 14 of an opening piece 12 is held and pulled upward, at the part of a bored hole 11, a liner 13 is lifted while being tightly attached to the opening piece 12, and an opening is started. Then, both guiding weakened lines 7 and 8 are sheared, and a band shaped part 9 is lifted upward. In this case, the ribbon breakage of the inner peripheral side guiding weakened line 8 at the outermost protruding part B can be prevented. The tensile opening force of the opening piece 12 is converted to the turning force, and the shear of an outer peripheral weakened line 4 and inner peripheral side extended weakened line 10 is advanced to make a full opening possible. A resin reinforced layer 15 can be provided at a random position with a random shape. For example, it can be provided to cover the whole of the inner peripheral side guiding weakened line 8 and its extended part 10, or it can be provided to cover all the weakened lines 4, 7, 8 and 10.

    • A carton contains a flap on the outer top panel and a flap on the inner top panel, the free edge of the outer top panel flap overlying the inner top panel flap. When a user presses down on the outer top panel flap, it pivots out of the way to allow the user's fingers to fold the inner top panel flap under the top panel structure to provide a handle for lifting the carton. When the fingers are withdrawn, the outer top panel flap is biased upwardly by its arcuate foldable connection to close the handle opening. If the inner top panel flap is contacted by the outer top panel flap as it pivots upwardly, the outer top panel flap pushes the inner top panel flap up to a substantially closed position. Score lines extending from the ends of the foldable connections of the inner and outer top panel flaps to the corners of the carton distribute the lifting stresses to the side panels of the carton.
