    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of appropriately causing a particular device to execute update of a plurality of programs.SOLUTION: A first request packet including a node name "P50" of a printer 50 is broadcasted to each printer (printers 50 and 60) which is connected to a LAN 4. When the first request packet is received, the printer 50 which has the node name "P50" transmits a first response packet including a current IP address "A1" of the printer 50 to a PC 10. The printer 60 which has a node name "P60", however, does not transmit the first response packet, even if the first request packet is received. The PC 10 downloads firmware for update "F3" from a file server. Then the PC 10 transmits the downloaded firmware for update "F3", using the IP address "A1" of the printer 50 as a transmission destination.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively save electric power, distribute a load, and execute a countermeasure for trouble, by moving a VM without interrupting processing with a cooperation of a data center and a WAN.SOLUTION: Network address translation mechanisms (NAT) 201, 202 are prepared to be set dynamically to respective nodes 102, 104 positioned in a boundary point between the WAN 101 and other networks 111, 131, 141, and an address before the VMs 114, 125 move is prevented from being duplicated with an address after being moved. Alternatively, a network virtualization function is mounted on each of the nodes 102, 103, 104 constituting the WAN 101, to prepare a virtual network connected to the data center 111 before being moved, and a virtual network connected to the data center 121 after being moved, the same address can coexist therein, route information is not required thereby to be changed in accompaniment to the moving of the VMs 114, 125, and setting is changed in a short time.
