An image printer 101 contains the image forming part of an electrostatic electrophotographic system, and forms an image by bringing a laser beam to scanning against a photosensitive drum. In case of copying the original, the digital image information generated by the image scanner 100 is sent to the image printer 101, printed by a laser printer, and also recorded simultaneously in a disk memory 102. In this way, in case of obtaining the same copy afterwards, the copy is obtained by the image information obtained from the disk memory 102.

CONSTITUTION:The power saving mode is set up by depressing the power saving mode setting key 1 in the power non-saving mode. On the other hand, the power saving mode is restored to the power non-saving mode by depressing the key 1 in the power saving mode. The interruption mode is set up by depressing an interruption mode setting key 2 in a normal mode other than the interruption mode and restored to the normal mode by depressing the key 2 in the interruption mode. Even if the key 1 is depressed in the interruption mode, the interruption mode is not directly switched to the power saving mode, but the interruption mode is once released and the normal mode is set up. Then, the normal mode is switched to the power saving mode by depressing the key 1 again.

Forms 201 having an image of the original 104 copied on one side are guided from the original tray 21 to the copy processing part and an image of the original 103 is copied on reverse surfaces. The forms 201 are discharged to a sorter 4 and the originals 104 and 103 are discharged to above the original tray 33; and the original of the 2nd page is guided to the original platen 2 and its image is copied to forms 202. Consequently, supplementary copying operation for a defect in paper feeding is made extremely easy.

CONSTITUTION:The subordinate intermediate tray 81 is arranged rockingly around a both-face copying conveyance path 34 as a fulcrum and the end bottom face on the side of an inverting paper conveyance path 35 contacts a cam roller 82. When a paper is fed from the subordinate intermediate tray 81, the cam roller 82 rotates and the side end part of the inverting paper conveyance path 35 of the subordinate intermediate tray 81 moves up. The paper stacked in the subordinate intermediate tray 81 by this operation abuts on a subordinate intermediate tray part paper feed roller 84 and is fed toward the inverting paper conveyance path 35. A changeover claw 83 for one-face copied paper is arranged rockingly at part of the both-face copying conveyance path 34. Said changeover claw 83 is a one-face copied paper switching means and guides the one-face copied paper to an intermediate tray 22 or the subordinate intermediate tray 81.

    • PURPOSE:To remove a charge securely from the surface of a photosensitive body after a transfer process and to lower the electrostatic attractive force of waste toner by arranging a reflecting plate which distributes the light beam which provides the highest illuminance among light beams from a light source to the surface of the photosensitive body while slanting its optical axis slightly from a normal direction. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic discharging device 22 for the photosensitive body has the elliptic reflecting plate 23 and incorporates the light 24. the reflecting plate 23 is arranged slantingly to a normal 41 to the surface of the photosensitive drum 1 and the light 40 is distributed to the surface of the photosensitive body at an angle thetaof incidence where the highest illuminance is obtained on the surface of the photosensitive body. Waste toner 50 remaining on the surface of the photosensitive drum 1 after the transfer process is stuck with electrostatic attractive force. The light from the electrostatic discharging device 22 is distributed to the surface of the photosensitive body at the angle theta of incidence to illuminate the contacting part between the waste toner 50 and the surface of the photosensitive drum 1. Consequently, a charge which generates the electrostatic attractive force making the waste toner 50 stick on the surface of the photosensitive drum 1 is removed securely.

    • PURPOSE:To make the diameter of a recording medium small, and to make the whole device small in size by placing a lamp for exposing uniformly the recording medium through a transfer material, in an area for transferring an image rotated on the recording medium, to the transfer material. CONSTITUTION:As soon as a transfer corona discharger 9 is operated, the overall length in the axial direction of a photosensitive body 5 is exposed uniformly by a lamp 20. The lamp 20 is provided on the back of a shield plate 9-1 of the corona discharger 9, and exposes the photosensitive body 5. In this case, other part than the part (the part which has been adhered tightly to the photosensitive body 5) corresponding to a transfer material is exposed by the lamp 20, therefore, adhesion of toner adhering to the photosensitive body 5 which is not transferred to the transfer material is weakened, a cleaning effect by a cleaning device 11 is raised, and the burden of cleaning is reduced. Also, the lamp 20 is provided on the back of the corona discharger 9 for transferring a toner image to the transfer material, therefore, the photosensitive body 5 can make a drum diameter small without being controlled by a placed position of the lamp 20.
