CONSTITUTION:A recording medium 4 is wound around the outer periphery of a platen roller 1 and both sides of the recording medium 4 are wound around said roller 1 by loop like elastic belts 12 to be pressed thereto. The elastic belts 12 are provided under tension by the belt rollers 10, each of which has an outer diameter smaller than that of each of two auxiliary rollers 8, engaged with the shafts 9 of said rollers 8 and the belt roller 10 supported by other rotary shaft 11 so that the inner peripheral surfaces of the elastic belts 12 are not brought into contact with each other. The auxiliary rollers 8 press the recording medium 4 to the platen. roller 1 by spring force. Therefore, the recording medium 4 is fed with the rotation of the platen roller 1 while pressed in a line form on both sides thereof by the elastic belts 12.

    • PURPOSE:To securely make a cut in a rolled paper and enable easy cutting of the paper, by providing a pressing member for pressing a guide wall for the rolled paper and causing the pressing member to press the rolled paper when cutting the paper. CONSTITUTION:With a cutting command outputted from a controlling circuit, a motor 5 is rotated, a driving force thereof is transmitted to a feed screw 3, and the movement a carrier 2 is started. A pressing member 6 is started for moving with the movement of the carrier 2, and when the member 6 reaches a position on a rolled paper 10, the paper is pressed against a paper guide 11, 12 by an elastic force of the member 6. With a further movement, an edge 7a of a cutter 7 comes into contact with the paper 10. Since the paper 10 is pressed against the paper guide 11, 12 by the member 6, the stiffness of the paper in a paper-cutting direction in the vicinity of the point of contact can be enhanced, and a cut can be easily made in the paper without bending the paper, even where the edge of the cutter 7 is not so sharp. When the cutting of the paper 10 proceeds to completion, the motor 5 is reversely rotated to return the carrier 2, whereby a cutting operation is finished.

CONSTITUTION:A bar code 1b consisting of markers 1c, 1d, 1e is provided on an ink film at a part immediately before a marker 1a for positioning the leading end of a block of the ink film. The bar code 1b indicates the capacity of the ink film, the capacity varying with, for example, the ratio of the spacing between he markers 1c and 1d to the spacing between the markers 1d and 1e. The bar code 1b is detected by a sensor 4 of a hard copying device. Accordingly, the capacity of the ink film can be detected when using the ink film, and the residual amount of the ink film can be detected by counting the number of times of printing.

CONSTITUTION:The ink paper cassette 5 is supported by a cassette base 7 and a switch base 8, with a winding core 2 fitted to a reel base 9. Simultaneously, a recording mode detecting switch 10 is closed under the weight of the cassette 5, thereby giving a command for thermal transfer recording mode to a head 11. In the case of thermal recording, where the cassette 5 is not required, the switch 10 is opened to give a command for a thermal recording mode to the head 11. Accordingly, misuse problems are prevented from being generated in the case where the user has forgotten to place an ink paper in position at the time of thermal transfer recording, the case where the ink paper is left in position at the time of thermal recording or in other similar occasions.

When a rapid traverse button 45 is depressed from the stopped state, the rapid traverse arm 24 is rotated in the clockwise direction and a high-speed gear 262 is engaged with the rapid traverse gear 18. When a rewinding button 41 is depressed from the stopped state, the rapid traverse arm 24 is rotated in the counterclockwise direction through a rewinding arm 28, the high-speed gear 262 is engaged with a rewinding idler gear 31 and the rotation is transmitted to the rewinding gear 21.
