SOLUTION: The light signal detection component is provided with a male connector 1, a female connector 2, two light signal output parts 3, and a base part 4 including an optical waveguide substrate. The light signal detection component can discriminate whether or not the light signal is transmitted by the presence/absence of branched signals, and the transmission direction of the light signal based on from which of the two light signal output parts 3 the light signal is transmitted. Thus, the light signal detection component, which actualizes cost reduction and manufacturing workability improvement by eliminating the restriction needed when the component is manufactured, can be obtained.
