    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polynuclear metal complex modified product high in reaction activity as a redox catalyst and also high in stability.
      SOLUTION: [1] The polynuclear metal complex modified product is obtained by modifying treatment such as heating treatment of (a) a polynuclear metal complex having in the molecule at least one macrocyclic ligand having 5-15 coordinating atoms and multiple metal atoms to modify the polynuclear metal complex so as to be 5-90 wt.% in the weight loss percentage after the treatment and 5 wt.% or greater in the carbon content after the modification. Alternatively, [2] the polynuclear metal complex modified product is obtained by modifying treatment such as heating treatment of a mixture of a polynuclear metal complex similar to (a) and a specific organic compound or a carbon carrier to modify the polynuclear metal complex so as to be 5-90 wt.% in the weight loss percentage after the treatment and 5 wt.% or greater in the carbon content after the modification. [3] A redox catalyst comprising the polynuclear metal complex modified product[1] or [2] is also provided.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which a crystal of a ferric alkali polyamino-polycarboxylate can economically be obtained in high yield and high purity with a small amount of waste liquors discharged and a slight environmental load according to simple operation.
      SOLUTION: The method for producing the ferric alkali polyamino-polycarboxylate is carried out by reacting a polyamino-polycarboxylic acid with an alkali and an iron compound in an aqueous solution, then carrying out an oxidizing treatment with molecular oxygen, concentrating the resultant aqueous solution of the ferric alkali polyamino-polycarboxylate, depositing the crystal of the salt so that the slurry concentration is 40-65 mass% and separating and recovering the crystal from the mother liquor. In the method, a part or all of the separated and recovered mother liquor is recycled and used for production after the next time.
