    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for a photocatalyst which is capable of decomposing a harmful organic substance and the like to make it harmless, in a room or else and making the same harmless in the maintenance-free state over a long period. SOLUTION: The carrier for a photocatalyst includes an organic fiber whose surface has a plurality of fine pores and a photocatalyst which is carried with such a thickness as not to fill up the fine pores on the surface of the organic fiber, and the organic fiber has a light permeability. Alternatively, a photocatalyst which is provided with an organic fiber group made by bundling a plurality of organic fibers; a transparent covering material which covers the surroundings of the organic fiber group and which is provided with a plurality of fine pores on its surface; and a photocatalyst which is carried with such a thickness as not to fill up the fine pores on the surface of the covering material.
