    • PURPOSE:To obtain a dial gauge of improved precision and durability, which has fewer components and is easy to assemble. CONSTITUTION:First, a first arm 41 is inserted into a recessed part 2 from a measuring-feeler insertion hole 3 in a main-body case 1. It can be inserted easily because a movement in conventional cases is not housed inside the recessed part 2. After that, a second arm 26 is housed inside the recessed part, a sector gear 25 is engaged with a pinion 23 for an expansion and transmission mechanism, transmission pins 28A, 28B on the side of a base end part are brought into contact with the first arm 41 from the opposite side. The base part of each transmission pin comes into contact with the first arm, it can reduce a bending moment acting on each transmission pin. Lastly, a cover 51 is attached, and the second arm is supported so as to be freely turned and moved.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the geometric accuracy of the circular arc edge of a cutting tool to be easily detected by shifting the cutting tool along the second axis, keeping an accuracy detector in contact with the external surface of the tool, and reading a maximum value from the detector. CONSTITUTION:A cutting tool 2 is shifted along the second axis 1b, and an accuracy detector 4 is kept in contact with the outer surface of the tool 2. In this state, a maximum value is read from the detector 4. Then, the detector 4 is turned within the same plane about the first axis 1a by a turning means 5 comprising a turntable 16 or the like, and the center axes of the detector 4 and the tool 2 are kept in agreement on the second axis 1b. Also, the tool 2 is shifted until the detector 4 gives the same reading. As a result, the center of the circular arc edge 3 of the tool 2 comes to agree to the first axis 1a. In this state, the detector 4, while being kept in contact with the outer surface of the tool 2, is turned about the first axis 1a, thereby enabling the degree of geometric accuracy to be easily detected for the circular arc edge 3 of the tool 2.
