    • PURPOSE:To prevent intervals between printing letters to fall into disorder, by a method wherein a reference selection voltage applied to a motor is corrected with a difference between a selecting time, during which a type is selected and moved to a printing position, and a reference selecting time to always keep a constant selecting time. CONSTITUTION:A printer is provided with a carrier 2 which can freely be driven and moved in directions of arrow marks A and B, and a motor 3, whereof a printing head 4 consists, is placed on the carrier 2. A type wheel 5, which has a large number of types 5a formed in its end, is mounted at the motor 5, and a hammer 7 is located in a position corresponding to a printing position X of the wheel 5 so that it can freely be driven for protrusion. A selecting time T1, during which the type 5a is selected and moved to the printing position X, is measured to compare the time T1 with a reference selecting time T2. According to a difference between the times T1 and T2, a reference selecting voltage VS applied to the motor 3 is corrected to maintain the selecting time T1, at all times, required for a given selecting motion of the type wheel, in a constant manner irrespective of a change in the property of the motor 3.
