    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a workpiece support device which can positively prevent a workpiece from falling due to decrease in fluid pressure for driving a clamp device.
      SOLUTION: The workpiece support device 20 is arranged on a main shaft 11 for driving the workpiece W for rotation, and supports the workpiece W on the main shaft 11. The workpiece support device is formed of the clamp device 30 driven by the fluid pressure so as to fix the workpiece W thereto or release the same therefrom, and a release inhibiting device 70 for controlling the action of the clamp device 30 and inhibiting it from shifting from a fixing side at which the workpiece W is fixed to a releasing side at which the workpiece W is released. The release inhibiting device 70 is energized so as to assume a control state in which the action of the clamp device 30 is controlled, and driven at least by the fluid pressure in a releasing side fluid pressure channel B, for driving the clamp device 30 toward the releasing side, so as to assume an allowing state in which the action of the clamp device 30 is allowed against an energizing force of the release inhibiting device 70 per se.
