    • PURPOSE:To better the shape of the end of rolled stock by constituting one of a pair of bracing rolls of an arbor position of which is adjustable around axial line and provided with spiral steps on both ends of its large diameter part and a bracing roll sleeve freely rotatable on the outer periphery of the large diameter part. CONSTITUTION:An arbor 13 is rotated through a worm 17 and a worm wheel 18 by driving an electric motor 16 and the length L just above the upper work roll 1 is made to coincide with W of a rolled stock S. Rolling force is applied to the roll 1 through an upper bracing roll 6 by an pressing device, and when necessary, an increase bending device or decrease bending devices 10, 11 are used. Lubricating oil is sent to a clearance 23 by a hydraulic pump through oil grooves 20, 21. The upper and lower work rolls 1, 3 are driven and rolling of the rolled stock S is started. Then, an upper bracing roll sleeve 14 is rotated around the outer periphery of large diameter part of fixed arbor 13 by the roll 1, and a lower bracing roll is rotated by the roll 3. Thus, a rolled stock having good end shape is obtained.

CONSTITUTION:At least one of a sleeve sliding type rolling mill A of which the sleeve 3 is made freely movable in an axial direction and an intermediate backup roll shift type rolling mill B of which the intermediate backup roll 10 is made freely movable in an axial direction is disposed to the lower stream side stand of a continuous rolling mill. A shape control function is provided without changing rolls as against the change in the plate width of the down stream side stand. At least one of a sleeve diameter expanding type rolling mill C of which the sleeve 13 is made freely swellable in a radial direction by a pressure medium is installed to the upper stream side stand, whereby shape correcting ability is improved, responsiveness is improved and the crown edge drop of the plate is reduced.
