    • PURPOSE:To prevent the increase of the temperature of a friction mating member being an opposite member to the wet type friction material of a friction member, in a wet type friction device utilized for a wet clutch or a wet brake. CONSTITUTION:In a wet type friction device, a friction member 4 on the surface of which a wet type friction material 3 is formed is coupled to the one of two shafts relatively rotatable therebetween, a friction mating member 5 is coupled to the other, the wet type friction material 3 located to the friction member 4 and the friction mating member 5 are brought into pressure contact with each other. The friction mating member 5 forms hollow structure, a hollow part 6 of the friction mating member 5 is filled with a metal having a melt point of 150-270 deg.C, and the increase of the temperature of the friction mating member 5 is suppressed by means of the melt latent heat of a sealed metal 7.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transition metal nitride which is low in the contact resistance generated between a separator and an electrode, excellent in corrosion resistance, and reduced in cost, a separator for a fuel cell, a fuel cell stack, and a fuel cell vehicle. SOLUTION: The transition metal nitride is obtained by nitriding a base material composed of austenitic stainless steel into which at least one of Nb, V and Ti is added. The transition metal nitride is provided with: a first layer 11b which is continuously formed on a base layer 12 formed from the base material and has a stacked crystal structure of a nano-level, including a nitride having a cubic crystal structure of M 4 N type and a nitride having a hexagonal crystal structure of M 2-3 N type; and a second layer 11c which is formed continuously on the first layer 11b, includes a nitride having at least one crystal structure of hexagonal crystal structures of Cr 2 N, CrN, and M 2-3 N type and a cubic crystal structure of M 4 N type, and is continuously formed as a surface-nitriding portion of the base material in the depth direction from a surface of the base material.
