SOLUTION: In the optical recording medium with a recording layer formed on a substrate directly or through an undercoat layer and further, a reflective layer, a protecting layer or an adhesive layer and a second substrate formed on the recording layer according to necessity, at least one kind of chemical compound represented by formula (I), is added. In the formula (1), X and Y are each a substituted pyridine group at a different bonding position; Z is a 2-substituted phenyl group, a substituted imidazole group or a substituted triazole; M is a divalent metal atom; and n is the number of a formazan ligand coordinated to M.
