    • PURPOSE:To obtain a favorable thermal recording material free from the occurrence of unevenness of recording density caused by irregularities on a cloth surface by a method wherein a substrate is a woven cloth made of a yarn having a fiber diameter of a specific value or less, and a thermal recording layer is provided on the substrate. CONSTITUTION:A substrate of a thermal recording material is a woven cloth made of a yarn having a fiber diameter of 200mum or less, and a thermal recording layer is provided either or both surfaces of the substrate. The use of a yarn having a fiber diameter more than 200mum forms irregularities on the surface of the woven cloth and results in deterioration of printing quality. If a large amount of an undercoat layer is applied for preventing said deterioration, the intrinsic flexibility of a woven cloth is lost. A smaller fiber diameter realizes a higher image quality, but the use of a yarn of a very small fiber diameter results in a high cost. Thus, a yarn of the order of 5-100mum is most preferably used. For holding the uniformity of a recorded image or preventing a creeping of a coated layer and a pin hole, it is preferable that two or more primary yarns having a fiber diameter of 100mum or less are twisted to make a secondary yarn, and a woven cloth using the secondary yarns arranged in parallel as warps and/or woods is used as the substrate.

    • PURPOSE:To enable stable recording free of a fogging or blocking phenomenon by incorporating hyaluronic acid or a salt thereof in at least one of the layers constituting a recording material. CONSTITUTION:Hyaluronic acid or a salt thereof is incorporated in at least one of layers constituting a recording material, in a thermal recording material which comprises a recording layer comprising a colorless or light-colored basic dye and a color reaction agent for developing the basic dye into a color when being heated. Of the hyaluronic acid (or the salt thereof), one which has a molecular weight of 2X10 to 8X10 , most preferably 3.5X10 to 2X10 , is free of possibility of thinking of a coating liquid containing the hyaluronic acid, and provides an excellent antistatic effect, so that it can be used preferably. It is particularly effective for the hyaluronic acid or salt thereof to be incorporated in a backing layer of a support. The amount of the hyaluronic acid (or salt thereof) used is generally 0.1-5g/m , preferably 0.2-2g/m .

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the adhesion of refuse to a head by providing a thermal recoding layer comprising a specified heat-fusible substance, a wax, a lubricant, an oil-absorptive pigment and a color reaction agent on a support to form a thermal recording material. CONSTITUTION:In addition to a colorless or light-colored basic dye and a color reaction agent capable of coloration upon contact with the dye, a heat-fusible substance showing a weight loss of at least 5% at 200 deg.C under the temperature rise rate condition of 20K/min, wax, a lubricant and an oil-absorptive pigment having an oil absorption of at least 85cc/100g are dispersed by an agitating and grinding machine such as a ball mill and a sand mill by using water as a dispersant to prepare a coating liquid. The coating liquid is applied to a support, and is dried to provide a thermal recording layer, thereby obtaining a thermal recording material. The wax is preferably used in an amount of 3-100pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the heat-fusible substance.
