    • PURPOSE:To enable the air-fuel ratio of high accuracy to be detected even in a case that the detection surface of flame light is stained and the transmitted quantity of light is small, by detecting the emission strength of the radical ingredients of the combustion gas of visible radiation range with both light receiving elements, and calculating the air-fuel ratio by these output signal ratios. CONSTITUTION:Combustion flame light introduced from the detection end 3 of the combustion flame light is conducted to an optical fiber cable 4, and is forked therefrom to be conducted to two light catching sensors 5, 6 which are different each other in the emission strength of the CH radical of combustion gas or a spectral sensitivity characteristic. The light receiving elements 5, 6 are connected to a driving process circuit 7 to carry out photoelectric transferring therein, and the signals are conducted to a controller 8 which consists of a microprocessor. In the controller 8, the signals from the driving process circuit 7 are calculated and processed, and the information of an air-fuel ratio is obtained. When the air-fuel ratio is rich, the combustion light is reddish and its wave length is big, and when the air-fuel ratio is lean, the combustion light becomes bluish and its wave length becomes small. Thereby, which wave length ranges of flame become many can be discriminated by taking the ratio of the output signals, so that the judgement of the air-fuel ratio can be obtained.

CONSTITUTION:A signal from a flame light detector 16 is inputted to a photoelectric converter 18 through an optical fiber 17, where it is converted into an electric signal which is processed by a signal processing circuit 20 through a switching circuit 19 and is inputted to a controller 21. A signal from an engine operating condition parameter detector 22 is inputted to the controller 21 to output a control signal. In which case, in a region, where dust is adhered to the detecting surface of the flame photo detector 16, the input of a flame photo signal to the controller 21 is shut off, and a closed loop control mode is released by means of the flame light signal to perform an open loop control. This prevents lowering of performance of detecting a flame light thanks to dust adhered to the flame light detector 16, resulting in high precise control of an ignition time.

    • PURPOSE:To detect a degree of dirt in a flame light detector, by detecting discharge spark light and combustion flame light in a selective manner, while setting a discharge spark at the latter half period of an exhaust stroke down to the reference light. CONSTITUTION:A light signal being detected by a flame light detector 19 is led into a light brancher 22 and branched off in two parts by an optical fiber 21. And, the branched light signal is converted into an electric signal by photoelectric transducers 23 and 24 and lead into an overall control circuit 25. In addition, a crank angle signal out of a crank angle sensor 26 and various parameter signals out of an engine parameter detector 27 are led into the control circuit 25, and on the basis of this determination, spark discharge at a spark plug 20 is carried out by an electronic ignition device 28. Here, each spectral- response characteristic of these photoelectric transducers 23 and 24 is altered. With this constitution, a signal for only combustion flame light and only a signal for discharge spark light at the latter half period of an exhaust stroke are detectable each. And, making the said discharge spark a criterion, compensation takes place for the detected signal of combustion flame light, making it turn to the signal level that corrected a degree of dirt on a detection surface.

    • PURPOSE:To constitute the inexpensive hot wire type flow meter which measures a flow rate at plural points by providing resistors for flow velocity detection as sensors at respective measurement points and sharing a processing means such as the Wheatstone bridge of a resistor for temperature compensation. CONSTITUTION:Resistors 18 and 19 for flow rate detection are provided in a flow passage at two positions where a measurement is taken. The resistor for temperature compensation, on the other hand, is provided at either point because of nearly the same atmosphere. Then, the resistors 18 and 19 for flow velocity detection are connected to one side of the Wheatstone bridge in parallel and the resistor 13 for temperature compensation is connected to the other side. Further, supply currents to the resistors 18 and 19 are adjusted through a differential amplifier 14, transistor (TR)15, etc., so that the potential difference at the middle point of the bridge is 0, and the current at this time is used as a flow speed signal of gas. Further, the temperature is detected by the resistor 13 to correct a fed current. Further, a zero-span circuit 17 which detects a flow velocity on time-division basis and extracts a heating current, etc., are shared. Thus, a detection part is provided at every measurement point and a driving means is shared, so the device is constituted at low cost.

Since the torque corresponding to the amount of operation of a driver is generated even in a thin mixed-gas operation range, easy driving is permitted.

A pressure buffering means like a surge tank 30 is installed up- stream from the hot wire sensor 6.
