A fault of the system 0 is detected at the MSV, and the MSV gives a command to switch all nodes to the system 1 and each node is controlled afterward by the system 1.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible that a master station recognizes the connection order of slave stations only with fundamental transmission and reception functions, by receiving all frames, which pass each slave station, in the slave station and reporting stored addresses from the slave station to the master station and counting and comparing addresses from individual slave stations in the master station. CONSTITUTION:The master station transmits a polling signal directed to all slave stations from a transmitting part 12. Each slave station receives this signal by a receiving part 15 and switches a switch circuit 19, which transmits normally received signals to a transmitting part 16, to transmit a response signal. This response signal passes only slave stations in the downstream of this slave station. Each slave station stores addresses of frames of passing response signals in a storage part 18. These stored addresses indicate addresses of slave stations in the upstream of this slave station. After a fixed time elasped, the master station transmits a signal, which instructs slave stations to report lists of stored addresses to the master station, to all slave stations. When receiving this signal, each slave station transmits the stored address list as data. The master station receives address lists from individual slave stations and counts and compares them to recognize the connection order of slave stations.

CONSTITUTION:A communication system consists of transmission lines 3 and 4 which are used by switching an in-use and a stand-by system and plural nodes 20 which switch the transmission lines 3 and 4 by a transmission line switch 70 through repeaters 50 and 60. The frame unit of data transmitted between nodes 20 of this communication system consists of a flag F, control part C, data D, detection parts FCS, and data invalidation period B. Invalidation period detecting means 51 and 61 which detect this invalidation period B are provided to the repeaters 50 and 60 respectively. Then, switch parts 76 and 77 are controlled by a common control part 80 in the invalidation period to prevent discontinuation which occurs to frames during the switching of the transmission lines 3 and 4, suppressing errors of data.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the calling requests to plural terminals and also to secure connection to a specific voice communication terminal equipment by performing the broadcasting to plural voice communication equipments and selecting ones to establish the calls among those communication equipments that sent the answers. SOLUTION: The host names #11 to #15 which specify each terminal and the IP addresses #11 to #15 are assigned to the voice communication terminals #11 to #15 which are connected to a packet switching network #0. These terminals, host names and addresses are corresponding in 1:1 to each other. Each of addresses #11 to #15 consists of 32 bits and can designate a specific voice communication terminal as well as a specific host name by designating the specific value. Then every IP address is divided into 16 bits, and the first and second halves of the address are defined as a network address part and a host address part respectively. When all bits of the host address part are set at '1', for example, the network address part communicates with all terminals having the common IP addresses, that is, can perform a broadcasting operation.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the work of a receiving person and to prevent the wrong connection of a telephone call by automatically connecting the telephone call at the time of receiving an electronic mail. CONSTITUTION:When the electronic mail is received by a electronic mail transmitting/ receiving means 10, the mail is stored in an electronic mail saving memory 11, and data are displayed on a terminal display 7. The receiving person inputs the position of an opposite side telephone number and a telephone connecting request from the display. A telephone connecting request receiving means 13 activates an opposite side telephone number reading means 14, the opposite party telephone number is read from the designated position of the data in the saving memory 11, and its own telephone number is read from a present telephone number saving memory 12 by its own telephone number reading means 15. Then, the opposite side and its own telephone numbers are informed a PBX processing request means 17, and the connection of the telephone call is requested. According to this request, a PBX 4 connects an opposite party telephone 6 and its own telephone 5. Thus, since the telephone is automatically connected at the time of receiving the electronic mail, the reliability of a system can be improved by reducing the work of the receiving person and eliminating the wrong connection.
