Accordingly, the arithmetic contents can be changed freely.

    • PURPOSE:To quickly move a cursor to a desired position by setting the data relation between the shift value of an index and the rotation value of a spherical member of a mouse. CONSTITUTION:When a mouse Y is moved toward Y, a Y-direction detection encoder 8 detects the Y-direction component of the shift value caused by the rotation of a ball 3. Then the detected Y-direction component is supplied to a Y-direction controller 21 in the form of the value converted into the number of pulses. Thus the controller 21 consists of an n-notation counter. A single pulse is transmitted every (n) input pulses and these output pulses are supplied to a display device through an output line 5. The display device senses as if the shift value of the mouse were equal to 1/n actual value. If (p) pulses are received for each unit shift value in response to the shift of a unit cursor, an output p/n is secured. Therefore the shift value of the cursor is also set at 1/n and a precise position is easily set by the mouse. An X-direction controller 22 also has the same operation as the controller 21.
