Since it can be machined with uniform cutting close to the maximum cutting, efficient surface machining can be achieved.

Then the area AR is divided with a straight line connecting a pair apexes P5 and P7 having the highest degree of adaptation. When this dividing process is through, the number of divisions is obtained so that the cutting pitch is maximum for divided areas PGi and PG2 respectively. At the same time, the segments L11-L16 and L21-L23 connecting the centroids W1 and W2 of both divided areas are divided by the decided number of divisions. Then the tool paths are decided in consideration of the dividing points of those divided areas.
