Also, during this machining, the tool 45 of the turret 46 of a second tool rest 44 can be moved in the direction of Z2, or X2, so as to be kept standing by near the workpiece, or to carry out simultaneous machining. The simultaneous machining is carried out which a corrected moving quantity, by adding the feeding quantity and speed of a Z1 axis to those of a single Z2 axis. It is also possible to carry out simultaneous machining by making an opposite main spindle 52 hold a separate workpiece and using a tool 45. Thus, by controlling headstocks which are opposite to each other with a guide bush interposed in between, and first and second tool rests, by means of an NC device, it is possible to make a tool for the following process wait near a workpiece while being machined by another tool, or to carry out simultaneous machining.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance the effectiveness in works by providing No.2 tool rest with capability of independent movement both in the direction along spindle and the one across the same, allowing No.1 and No.2 tool rests to work at the same time, and by controlling both tool rests by a simple control program. CONSTITUTION:In this automatic lathe with fixed spindle stock, control is made with the same program as designed for a conventional NC auto-lathe while No.2 tool rest 31 lies at the point of origin for movement. When simultaneous processing is made with tools 14, 15 on these two tool rests 28, 31 in order to shorten the time of works, such operations as advancing No.2 tool rest 31 till the processing position in the direction across the spindle axis and offsetting the cutting points with the tools 14, 15 slightly from each other shall be added to the motion of No.1 tool rest 28. This allow managing the sliding amount of guide rail 29 and stroke of the fitting shaft 33 with a minor scale as well as making the system with small and simple construction. Further, the program for control can be provided only through addition of a program for movement of the tool rest 31, which does not require any complicated procedure for preparation.

    • PURPOSE:To improve workability by a device and reduce its noise, by arranging a plurality of feed tubes to be lined in a circular shape while recirculating lubricating oil in a hollow part for a bar material fed by a push rod. CONSTITUTION:A supply device, arranging eight feed tubes 5 to be lined in a circular shape at a predetermined space and controlled by a rotary angle detector 14, stops the feed tube pitch by pitch. The device, inserting a push rod 15 into a hollow part 9 in the tube 5, supplies a bar material 4 to a main spindle of a lathe. The device improves workability because the bar material 4 is supplied by successively rotating the plural feed tubes 5. The device, supplying lubricating oil to the hollow part 9 of the tube 5 via a supply oil pipe 23 to be recirculated via a pipe 27, reduces a noise due to a contact between the bar material and the tube.

    • PURPOSE:To permit smooth unmanned operation over a long period by an apparatus which includes means for swinging a material rack of the titled apparatus about a shaft along a guide pipe between a bar material feeding position and a bar material receiving position. CONSTITUTION:A material rack 16 is so constructed that square steel materials 16a, 16b, 16c, 16d, 16l welded to one another are together welded to a joint 16f to form a frame, which is then pivoted to a feeder bracket 19 via a shaft 20. A spherical coupling 21 is fitted in a step 16h and coupled to a piston 23 of a hydraulic cylinder, causing the material rack 16 to swing about the shaft 20. Each bar material W is received while not yet used materials are remained, so that the bar materials undergoes no lateral pressure while swinging. This permits smooth unmanned operation.
