    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cuff with fewer creases formed on an inner side sheet of an inflation bag when wound around an organism. SOLUTION: The double cuff for measuring blood pressure comprises an inflation bag for avascularization for avascularizing an artery of an ankle and a pulse wave detecting inflation bag 26 disposed at a downstream section of the inflation bag for avascularization on the inner peripheral surface side of the inflation bag for avascularization for detecting the pulse wave of the artery. The pulse wave detecting inflation bag 26 consists of an outer peripheral side sheet 50 and an inner peripheral side sheet 48 laminated to each other to form a bag, and the length of the inner peripheral side sheet 48 in the longitudinal direction is shorter than that of the outer peripheral side sheet 50 in the longitudinal direction. As the length of the inner peripheral side sheet 48 in the longitudinal direction is shorter than the length of the outer peripheral side sheet 50 in the longitudinal direction, the creases formed on the inner peripheral side sheet of the pulse wave detecting inflation bag 26 are reduced when the double cuff 10 is wound around the ankle. • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arteriosclerosis evaluation device capable of precisely evaluating arteriosclerosis. SOLUTION: A blood pressure continuously deciding means 98 continuously decides a blood pressure value BP by using a radial artery wave detected continuously by a pressure pulse wave sensor 56, and continuously decides pulse wave propagation velocity information based on the radial artery wave and a cardiac sound waveform detected by a cardiac sound microphone 74. Furthermore, a blood pressure average value calculation means 106 calculates an average of blood pressure values (blood pressure average) decided continuously, and a corresponding relation deciding means 104 decides a corresponding relational formula between the continuously decided blood pressure values and the continuously decided pulse wave propagation velocity information. Then, average pulse wave propagation velocity information is decided from the blood pressure average and a corresponding relational formula. Since this average pulse wave propagation velocity information is a pulse wave propagation velocity information corresponding to an average value of blood pressures during a measuring period of the pulse wave propagation velocity information, the average pulse wave propagation velocity information becomes a value from which fluctuation of the blood pressures during the measuring period is sufficiently removed, arteriosclerosis is evaluated precisely. • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood pressure measuring apparatus which determines a blood pressure value in accordance with a change in a smoothed amplitude value string, and easily discriminates the propriety of a measurement state. SOLUTION: A sampled amplitude value string R and the smoothed amplitude value string S are overdisplayed on a pulsation change display part 44 (i.e. on one two-dimensional diagram in which the first axis represents a cuff pressure and the second axis represents an amplitude value) of recording paper 42, or the like, by a display device, and a correction factor C is displayed on a measurement state display part 46 through the use of a horizontal line with a length corresponding to a value thereof. On the display part 44, the sampled amplitude value string R is displayed by using a vertical line, and the smoothed amplitude value string S is displayed by using a polygonal line. An area S, which is formed between an envelope of the vertical line and the polygonal line due to a difference between both the amplitude value strings R and S, is filled in black. Cuff pressures, corresponding to maximal and minimal blood pressures, are represented by black and white triangle marks in the vicinity of the first axis. In addition, a standard, which represents the propriety of the measurement state, is marked on the display part 46. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arterial sclerosis evaluation apparatus capable of evaluating the arterial sclerosis based on the afterload of the heart. SOLUTION: A pulse wave is detected and the blood pressure value is measured. Then, a corresponding relation determining means 88 determines the corresponding relation for converting the size of the pulse wave to the blood pressure value. Next, a pressure difference calculating means 94 converts the size of the pulse wave at the peak of generation of the reflected wave component and the size of the pulse wave at the peak of generation of the progressive wave component to the blood pressure values respectively by using the determined corresponding relation, and calculates the pressure difference ΔP between the blood pressure values. The pressure difference ΔP can be substituted for the pressure of the reflected wave component, which expresses the afterload of the heart. Accordingly, the afterload of the heart can be evaluated based on the pressure difference ΔP displayed in a display device 76. Further, as the large afterload of the heart means the progress of the arterial sclerosis, the arterial sclerosis can be also evaluated from the pressure difference ΔP. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
