    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent glare of direct sunlight in a vertical optical duct and effectively diffuse the light which enters into the duct.
      SOLUTION: The light diffusion apparatus 10 has cylindrical reflection plates 11a and 11b with either side formed of a reflecting surface arranged in the shape of concentric circles, so that the reflecting surfaces be parallel with a depth direction of the optical duct 1 and not contacting each other. This apparatus is placed at any point inside the vertical optical duct. Occurrence of glare can be prevented by appropriately setting lengths of and an interval between the above reflection plates 11a, 11b, resulting in that the direct sunlight entering from a light entrance 3 goes out through a light exit 2. The reflection plates 11a, 12b may not necessarily be of a cylindrical shape and can be of any shape like a polygon, nor necessarily of concentric circles.
