CONSTITUTION:The dust collecting electrodes 3 are constituted in the same manner as for a conventional two-stage type electrostatic dust collector. Namely corona 15 generated by the discharge electrode 32 of a DC high-voltage power source 31 to electrify the dust in the first stage. The dust is collected on the dust collecting electrode 34 by the Coulomb force generated by the electric field consisting of a high-voltage electrode plate 33 of the same polarity as the polarity of the discharge electrode 32 and the grounded dust collecting electrode 34 in the second stage. This highvoltage electrode plate 33 is coated with the inorg. compd. such as hydrous alumino silicate ore. In such a case, the electrode plate is formed by coating the surface of a planar electrically conductive material, for example, metal, such as aluminum, with the powder of the hydrous alumino silicate ore and press forming the material.

As a result, since air introduced into the dust collecting part generates turbulence in the flow and moves toward the electrode surface, dust collection is easily affected by the coulomb force to increase the dust collecting efficiency.

High voltage is applied between the collecting electrodes 9a, 9b and the pleat electrode 11 so that the collecting electrodes 9a, 9b may be opposite in polarity to the charging polarity given to particles by the charging part on the upstream side of the gas flow. In this way, in the collecting electrode 9a on the upstream side, by electrostatic force and the slowing down of gas flow rate near the electrode 9a, high dust collecting efficiency is obtained, and in the electrode 9b, by electrostatic force and the refraction action of the gas flow, high dust collecting efficiency is obtained.

CONSTITUTION:A fluid cleaner is constituted so that air is passed through an ionizer 22 to charge particles and the air contg. these charged particles must be passed through an open-cell foamed structure made of the charged activated carbon sheets 24, 25. These charged particles mutually act on an electric field formed by the charged sheets and are collected on the sheets 24, 25. Effect of the activated carbon sheets 24, 25 utilized as an absorptive material is deteriorated by contamination of dust particles. However, since at least two sheets of activated carbon sheet are utilized, both the effective region brought into contact between activated carbon and the gas to be attracted, and the elapsed time are regulated at least to two times. Therefore contamination coefficient can be compensated. Thereby the particles are collected by impact, shut-off and electric force. Furthermore, ozone and bromine can be removed by attraction.
