摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating exhaust gas which can sufficiently prevent the generation of white smoke and the temporary poisoning of a carbonaceous catalyst by sulfuric acid and an apparatus for the method. SOLUTION: In the method for treating exhaust gas which removes SOX, NOX, and hydrogen halide in exhaust gas generated from an exhaust gas source 1, the exhaust gas is passed through a reactor 6 containing the carbonaceous catalyst to which a nonvolatile alkali agent is stuck to remove SOX, NOX, and hydrogen halide in the exhaust gas. When the exhaust gas containing ammonia is passed through the reactor 6, hydrogen halide in the exhaust gas is adsorbed by the alkali agent, and the concentration of HCl in the exhaust gas is reduced so that the generation of the while smoke by the generation of ammonium chloride is prevented. Since only a small amount of SOX is adsorbed as sulfuric acid by the catalyst, the capture of ammonia in the exhaust gas on the catalyst by sulfuric acid is prevented sufficiently, improving denitrification performance.

The material to be used is preferably the porous carbon material, and the nitrogen dioxide adsorption and reduction removing agent is preferably an agent carrying an alkali metal compound or an alkali earth metal compound. After removing the nitrogen dioxide, the material and the nitrogen dioxide nitrogen adsorption and reduction agent are heated up to 150-200 deg.C in air to desorb the adsorbed nitrogen dioxide.

Consequently, the surface temperature of the distribution plate 10 is maintained at the dew point of the steam or lower. When the waste gas has passed through the distribution plate 10, condensation of steam occurs on the surface of the distribution plate 10, since the surface temperature of the distribution plate 10 is the dew point of water or lower, and particles of ammonium sulfate and ammonium nitrate having adhered to the surface of the distribution plate 10 are dissolved in the condensation water and removed. Consequently, accumulation of particles of ammonium sulfate and ammonium nitrate on the distribution plate 10 can be prevented.
