Then a value equivalent to an output shaft torque is detected by an output shaft torque equivalent value detecting means (d) and, when a variation width of the output shaft torque equivalent value exceeds a specified limit, a drive control instruction to lower an orifice opening is output to the actuator (a) by a limit corresponding transmission torque control means (e).

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of torque by setting the sliding face hardness of a driving piston lower than the hardness of a cam face for making the driving piston perform its stroke. CONSTITUTION:When relative rotational difference is generated to a housing 4 and a rotor 2, the outflow of oil discharged to an accumulator chamber 90 from a cylinder chamber 60 in association with the reciprocating motion of an axial driving piston 50 is regulated by an orifice 8 so as to generate fluid pressure in the cylinder chamber 60. The driving piston 50 is pressed to a cam face 31 by the force of cylinder internal oil pressure so as to generate joint transmission torque corresponding to the relative rotational difference between the housing 4 and rotor 2. When the cam face 31 is worn, the piston stroke becomes small, the piston speed is reduced, and the joint transmission torque is reduced, but since the sliding face hardness of the driving piston 50 is set lower than the hardness of the cam face 31, the cam face 31 is hardly worn. The lowering of torque can be thereby prevented even with the wear of the driving piston 50.
