    • PURPOSE: To enable the perfect treatment of various kinds of dust materials which are capable of making trickle flow by introducing the power into a fluidizable heat medium made of refractory material and heating the dust then burning the same. CONSTITUTION: A heating rod 36 is heated to drastically decrease a fluidizable air stream during the start-up of equipment. As a result, the heat medium 34 heated in a lower region and the heated air transmit temperature to the entire part of the material bed formed of the heat medium 34 until the entire part of the materiel bed attains the desired temperature by a fluidization effect and the resultant circulation motion. The dust which is ought to be made inert and is charged together with organic substances is then heated within a heat source 34. The heat medium 34 moving toward clockwise by the air stream from a transverse direction air nozzle 47 applies the heat thereof to the dust. When the dust attains an ignition temperature, the dust burns and the energy generated by the combustion of the dust is returned to the heat medium 34 particularly in the heated region of the bulk material bed of the heat medium, i.e., an upper region.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a molding sand treating method, which can correspond to the various kinds of sands having different composition recovered from a molding line and obtains unformized sand without distribution in the sand quality. CONSTITUTION:Since a first sand near a casting product in a master mold changes the composition by burning, after the removal of the foreign matter and a cooling process 83 of the sand are completed, by applying kneading 84 to be the first adding process of clay, moisture, etc., the quality is stabilized in some extent. Thereafter, the treated sand is joined into a second sand treating line X which is not affected from a casting product and for which the change of the composition is not generated and by applying the main kneading in the first kneading process 74 to the second sand, the stabilization of the quality of the first sand is surely attained together with the second sand. Further, a bypass line Z from a molding line is joined at the most upstream side of a treating line Y, and by introducing the shake-out of the sand in the next day generated on the operation of the treating line into the treating line Y, the stabilization of the quality to a third sand is surely attained.

    • PCT No. PCT/IT90/00096 Sec. 371 Date May 28, 1992 Sec. 102(e) Date May 28, 1992 PCT Filed Nov. 23, 1990 PCT Pub. No. WO91/08068 PCT Pub. Date Jun. 13, 1991.The method permits recovery of spent foundry sand for reuse by eliminating, by combustion, the organic and carbon substances with which the spent sand is impregnated; spent sand, after grinding to a uniform grain size, is placed into a cylindrical container (2) inclined with respect to the vertical and rotated slowly (4-6 revolutions per minute); then, a stream of oxygen is blown into the base of the container through a distributor (5) which uniformly distributes it into the spent sand mass (20), and local combustion is initiated on the surface of the sand mass, at the top of container, by a burner (31); finally the burner is extinguished whilst the delivery of the oxygen stream is maintained and the combustion proceeds and feeds itself by the effect of a progressive descent of the flame front (30) towards the base of the container until complete destruction of the organic and carbon substances contained in the sand has taken place.
