The intermediate member is attached to the heel support portion so as to be adjustable in the longitudinal direction of the snowboard binding. Thus, the length of the snowboard binding is efficiently adapted to each boot. And another positioning by the intermediate member allows a diagonal disposition of the heel support portion to the longitudinal axis of the snowboard binding.

SOLUTION: The snowboard binding system is provided with a boot and a binding configured to be releasably coupled together. The boot is provided with a mid sole 622a composed of a first material and an outer sole 622b composed of a second material. The first material has a lower coefficient of friction than the second material. First and second rear catches 628a and 628b are formed on the first and second lateral sides of the mid sole to engage a rear binding arrangement of the binding. A front catch 626 of the boot selectively engages a front binding member 642 of the binding. The outer sole partially covers the mid sole such that the mid sole is exposed in an area adjacent at least one of the first and second lateral sides. SOLUTION: This binding is used for holding a soft boot to a sliding apparatus, a snowboard especially, by means of a boot holding element and a calf support 8 turning in a traveling/foot inserting condition. By means of a step element 9 connected to the calf support and engaging the boot, the calf support is set in the traveling condition, and in this condition, the calf support is protected from accidental turning resulting from the traveling condition. In the traveling condition, especially when a load is applied to the step element 9, the calf support 8 can give a support resisting turning to the foot insertion condition under a turning shaft 10 touching a supporting part 20 fixed to the binding. When the load to the step element 9 is removed for releasing the support to the turning shaft 10, sliding motion is automatically allowed consequently.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning device 20 which can surely perform the fixation of a high back 13 while playing with a snowboard, and at the same time, can tilt the high back 13 backward by a simple operation so that the high back 13 may not become an obstacle for boots for the snowboard when the boots for the snowboard are attached/detached by the binding 10 to/from the snowboard. SOLUTION: This positioning device 20 determines the titling position of the high back 13, which supports the back surface of the boots for the snowboard being fixed on a base plate 11 while being supported by a heel cup 12 attached to the base plate 11 which constitutes the binding for the snowboard. Such a positioning device 20 is equipped with an attaching base plate 21, an operation lever 22, and a lock member. In this case, the attaching base plate 21 is attached at the approximate center of the back surface of the high back 13. The operation lever 22 is pivotally supported by a first pivotal shaft 24a in the lateral direction to the attaching base plate 21, in a manner to be openable/closable in the vertical direction. The lock member is pivotally supported by a second pivotal shaft 24b which is parallel with the first pivotal shaft 24a to the operation lever 22, in a manner to be rockable in the vertical direction. Also, the lower end of the lock member comes into contact with the upper surface of the heel cup 12 at the time of locking.
