    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction material having high cooling efficiency, solving a problem on a woven cloth that the rate of the depth of a groove to the thickness of the woven cloth is smaller and the flow amount of cooling liquid distributed in a single groove is small, namely, cooling efficiency is poor in the single groove.
      SOLUTION: The friction material 11 is annularly punched from the woven cloth W impregnated with a thermosetting resin and hardened by pressing work. The tissue of the cloth W for the friction material having high weaving cooling efficiency is multilayered with three plane-woven tissues W1, W2 and W3. The woven cloth W has threaded weft clearances 12 and threaded warp clearances 13. The weft clearance 12 is formed by lacking wefts Y1, Y2 and Y3. The warp clearance 13 is formed by lacking warps T11, T12, T21, T22, T31 and T32.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional woven fabric whose three or more layer weaves are formed of ≤50 denier warps and ≤50 denier wefts and can easily be woven, even when the weave density of the woven fabric is high.
      SOLUTION: This three-dimensional woven fabric 11 is formed by binding three weaves 12a, 12b, 12c with binding yarns 13a, 13b. The weaves 12a to 12c are plainly woven from warps 14a to 14c and wefts 15a to 15c, respectively. The binding yarn 13a for binding the first weave 12a and the second weave 12b is penetrated from one side of the adjacent two weaves 12a, 12b and then returned on the other side, and is therefore arranged in both the weaves 12a, 12b to go through the other side. The binding yarn 13b for binding the second weave 12b and the third weave 12c is penetrated from one side of the adjacent two weaves 12b, 12c and then returned on the other side, and is arranged in both the weaves 12b, 12c to go through the other side.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet type friction material and producing method therefor capable of achieving a high frictional coefficient μ and an improved μ-V positive gradient with the usage of diatomaceous earth as an additive for improving the frictional coefficient μ. SOLUTION: When the diatomaceous earth having a diameter of 1 to 50 μm is added as the additive so as to make paper for the wet type friction material, paste as a chemical showing delayed falling characteristic is added and papermaking is performed. The fine diatomaceous earth hardly sinks, a sinking speed gets slower by the delayed falling characteristic of the paste, and thereby paper is made on which surface the diatomaceous earth is concentrated. The wet type friction material is produced so that the surface becomes a friction surface. A friction examination is performed for thus produced wet type friction material in order to compare with a conventional wet type friction material whereon the diatomaceous earth is evenly dispersed. The friction examination is performed in a condition that a surface pressure is 980 kPa and an oil temperature is 80°. As a result, it is found out that this wet type friction material shows the enhanced friction coefficient μ and the improved μ-V positive gradient compared to the conventional wet type friction material.
