    • PURPOSE:To attain normal operation even when the polarity of a telephone line is selected in any direction by starting a no ringing detection means with a voltage detection signal when a voltage detection means detects a voltage from a telephone line to be a prescribed voltage or over and detecting a no ringing incoming signal by the detection means. CONSTITUTION:A polarity of voltage of a telephone line is made unidirectional by using a diode bridge 2 connecting between the telephone lines and when the voltage from the telephone line with the constant polarity reaches a 1st prescribed voltage or over, a switch means 3 is conductive, the voltage from the telephone line is fed to a voltage detection means 4 via a switch means 3 and when the voltage from the telephone line reaches a 2nd prescribed voltage or over, the voltage detection means 4 generates a voltage detection signal, the voltage detection signal starts the no ringing detection means 6 to detect a no ringing incoming signal. Thus, the telephone line is connected independently of the polarity of the telephone line, ease of mount of the controller is attained and risk of mis-connection is not caused.

      SOLUTION: Noise of instantaneous flow data measured by a flow measuring means 11 is eliminated by a flow data noise eliminating means 21, and data of a change part and a flat part of flow is extracted by a flow data object extracting means 22. The "length" of the change part of flow, "initial flow," "a row of transition regions," the "length" of a flat part of flow, "average value" and "inclination" are extracted by a gas flow feature extracting means 31. A rule coincidence retrieving and point adding means 43 of an appliance determination means 41 retrieves a rule with the feature data coinciding with the features of the change part and flat part of flow and adds points at every classification of the gas appliance and every gas leakage. An appliance-in-use determination means 44 determines that the gas appliance of that classification is during use and outputs appliance classification information as determined results.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent false detection of gas leakage when a new installed instrument is used in a consumer's house to make efficient and accurate detection of the gas leakage in a short time.
      SOLUTION: A characteristic extracting means 5 extracts characteristics of a gas flow containing a combination of an instantaneous flow rate and an instantaneous flow rate time differential value based on data obtained by a flow rate measuring means 1, a pressure measuring means 2, an instantaneous flow rate time differential calculating means 3 and a pressure time differential calculating means 4. A leakage sensing means 7 compares characteristic data for each gas instrument type or each gas leakage registered in a memory means 6 with the characteristics extracted by the means 5 and determines, if they do not match, whether or not a flow rate varies or a nozzle changes thereby determining whether the gas leakage takes place or an unregistered instrument is in use. In case of the gas leakage, an alarm is issued by an alarm means 9.
