When the antenna 11 of the carrier part 6 and the antenna 21 of the recording medium 20 are brought close to each other, data communication can be performed in noncontact between the host computer 1 and the CPU 24 of each recording medium 20. Consequently, the recording media can efficiently be managed in the system where the recording media are housed in their racks.
