Here the signals f1 to f9 at an output of a BPF 9 are at an illegal level ILL including drift noise due to vibrations, etc., but they are normal received signals NOF when dc components are removed by an HPF 10 and flaw detection data output from the comparator 12 is also normal flaw detection data NOD. If comparison 12 is made with the level ILL maintained, an abnormal received signal ILF and abnormal flow detection data ILD are created.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce noise caused by a material, and to satisfactorily execute a flaw detection by supplying a pulse current to a DC magnetizing coil, magnetizing intermittently a pipe, and executing an eddy current flaw detection. CONSTITUTION:A base body 3 is provided with wheels 1 on the periphery, and freely movable, while holding a suitable interval against the inner wall surface, in an object pipe 2. On the periphery of the base body 3, an coil 4 for eddy current flaw detection consisting of a pair of coils 4a, 4b, and a DC magnetizing coil 5 are provided, and connected to an eddy current flaw detecting means 6, and a pulse current supply means 7, respectively. A control means 8 command the generation of a prescribed pulse current to the pulse current supply means 7, and simultaneously, operates the eddy current flaw detecting means 6 synchronously therewith. Subsequently, a cable moving device 12 is operated, and while moving the base body 3 into the pipe 2 through a cable 10, the pulse current supply means 7 and the eddy current flaw detecting means 6 are operated, and an eddy flaw detection is executed.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the total cost including installation cost and maintenance cost, by forming a transmission line with a burried metallic conductor pipe and ground, and transmitting data carrier signal waves on the transmission line. CONSTITUTION:A data carrier signal wave is applied between a burried metallic pipe 1 and a grounded electrode E at one of two points P, P'. This carrier signal wave propagates, by taking the pipe 1 between the P, P' and ground G as a pair of transmission lines, that is, with attenuation in logarithmic proportion to a distance through the scattering in ground. The carrier signal wave attenuated through propagation can be received between the pipe 1 and the grounded electrode E' at the point P' of the P, P'.

    • PURPOSE:To achieve a decrease in amount of memory data, a smaller size of the apparatus and a higher speed of processing by recording an amplitude or a peak value and a phase together with a distance signal only when the amplitude or the peak value is above a specified value. CONSTITUTION:A flaw detection signal having noises suppressed with a synchronous detector 4 is inputted into a phase shifter 7 via a zero adjustor 6 which is controlled with a CPU11 and a signal corresponding to an amplitude of the flaw detection signal is inputted into a peak detector 12. The detector 12 generates an interrupt signal to the CPU11 only when a peak value of the flaw detection signal exceeds a specified value while the value thereof is converted into digital from analog to be outputted to a bus 8. A signal having the amplitude exceeding a specified value is recorded into an IC memory card 16 together with the grade of the amplitude, a phase and a distance signal derived by a distance synchronous pulse. Thus, data effective for flaw detection alone are selected and recorded thereby enabling the use of even a card 16 with a limited memory capacity with a decrease on the amount of data when a long-range flaw detection is performed.
